For the past ten years, I’ve met with high school students working on their college essays (yep, those angsty, hormonal man-child types) and asked them a lot of questions. And want to know what’s surprising – unlike some of the conversations with my own children – these students talked…a lot.

It’s not me, that’s for sure. It’s the process of being seen, engaged, and heard.
